It's Not the End of the World (Even As You Know It):
An Apocalypse Mixtape
Any major dude will tell you, the
beat goes on. You can
cry if you want to (it’s your party). You can say
don’t worry, be happy. Maybe you’re part of the
everybody that wants to rule the world, but when
Feel Good Inc goes out of business, hello,
goodbye, the wheel of fate turns onto the
highway to hell, living on a prayer.
Into each life some rain must fall, and it’s
jammin’ in thunder and lightning too.
Killing in the name of
living la vida loca; and the worst part is,
man, that’s all. It’s not
new, pussycat. Tale as
old as time. You think this apocalypse is special?
Please, please, please. You can’t stop the music.
Qué onda güero? Que será será. The
revolution will not be televised, but what about the
skyfall? The end of the world–it’s a real
thriller to read about, but the truth is less compressible
under pressure: the world has ended before, and will never end.
Viva la vida, even when we don’t want it to;
What a wonderful world, broken in two. Even in
Xanadu, up and down the pretty slopes,
young dudes carry the news:
Zombie. Zombie. Zombie -bie -bie.
